AIB MBA and BBA Graduation Ceremony 2013

For the first time in our history, CTS College will be co-hosting the AIB Graduation Ceremony for MBA and BBA Students. This milestone event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain on Sunday 16th June 2013 and is expected to be well attended by students, academic staff, invited industry guests and representatives from the Australian Institute of Business (AIB).

 

The Graduation Ceremony is a celebration of students’ academic achievements and it is also an important occasion that marks the culmination of study and hard work. It is an occasion for students to celebrate their well-earned success with family, friends and fellow graduates.

 

The details for the upcoming Graduation Ceremony are as follows:

  • Date: Sunday, June 16th 2013
  • Time: 3pm - 5pm
  • Venue: Hyatt Regency Hotel, Port of Spain

 

Please note that graduating students are asked to be at the venue from 1pm in order to have their Graduation portrait taken.

Students, who are eligible to graduate, will be informed of payment details and agenda prior to the ceremony. The ceremony will finish with a world-renowned dinner from the best chefs at Hyatt Regency.

 

Graduation Process

Step 1:

Students who wish to attend the Graduation Ceremony must first check whether they are eligible (see Eligibility to Graduate tab) by emailing CTS College representatives - This email address is being protected from spambots. Step 2:
Eligible students will receive an email back from CTS College advising, if they are eligible.

Step 3:
Eligible students must register and pay for the Graduation Ceremony and Dinner no later than April 15th 2013. To register, students will need to visit CTS College and:

  1. Inform on whether they wish to attend the Graduation Ceremony and register accordingly;
  2. Provide personal details;
  3. Collect gown and make down payment of $200.00 ($200.00 is refundable upon return of gown in original condition);
  4. Provide guest attendance details;
  5. Make the subsidized payment of TTD$600.00 per attendee (both students and guests pay $600 each) via cash, cheque, linx or visa.

 

Step 4:
Attend the Graduation Ceremony.

Eligibility to Graduate

Students interested in attending the Graduation Ceremony should read the information below and then email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to check whether they are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony (unless AIB has already confirmed their eligibility.)

 

In order to be eligible to graduate, students must fulfill certain subject requirements:

 

MBA Students

Students who receive official confirmation from AIB that they have completed their MBA course by April 19th 2013 are automatically eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony.

If any student does not receive official confirmation that they have completed the MBA they may still be able to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Management (GCM)* parchment or a Graduate Diploma in Management (GDM)* parchment at Graduation Ceremony if they meet the below criteria:

  • They complete the relevant number of subjects by the Cut-Off Date (i.e. in order to receive a GCM parchment, they must have completed between 4 and 7 subjects (inclusive); or in order to receive a GDM parchment, they must have completed between 8 and 11 subjects (inclusive)); and
  • Students must complete and submit Request for Parchment and Transcript Forms to AIB by April 19th 2013 to apply for the GCM or GDM.

 

BBA Students

Students who receive official confirmation from AIB that they have completed their BBA course by April 19th 2013 are automatically eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony.

 

If any student does not receive official confirmation that they have completed the BBA they may still be able to obtain a Diploma of Management parchment or an Associate Degree of Management parchment at Graduation Ceremony if they meet both of the below criteria*:

  • They complete the relevant number of subjects by the Cut-Off Date (i.e. in order to receive a Diploma of Management parchment, they must have completed between 6 and 11 subjects which must include the 6 Core subjects**; or in order to receive an Associate Degree of Management parchment, they must have completed between 12 and 18 subjects which must include the 6 Core subjects**); and
  • Students must complete and submit Request for Parchment and Transcript Forms to AIB by April 19th 2013 to apply for the Diploma or Associate Degree.

 

*Please note:

When students request a nested award but at the time of approval by the Academic Board they are eligible for a higher award, they will only receive the higher award.

 

**Students enrolled in the new BBA course will be eligible to receive a Diploma of Management parchment if they have completed between 8 and 15 subjects which must include the 8 Core subjects, or they will be eligible to receive an Associate Degree of Management parchment if they have completed between 16 and 23 subjects which must include the 8 Core subjects.

Immediately following the Graduation Ceremony, the customary dinner will be held. This is a fantastic way to bond and intermingle with other graduates and their families. You will be able socialise in an intimate and informal setting with senior representatives from AIB.

 

The dinner will be provided by the world renowned chefs at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I have finished my course requirements, when can I get my parchment?

Upon completing your course, CTS College would have emailed you with the Request for Parchment and Transcript Forms. If you indicated on the forms that you want AIB to retain your parchment and transcript for the annual AIB Graduation Ceremony, then you will receive them at the AIB Graduation Ceremony. If you did not indicate that you want AIB to retain your parchment and transcript for the Graduation Ceremony, then they would be posted to CTS College.

2. Can I get my parchment before the next Graduation Ceremony?

Yes, as indicated above you can request to have your parchment and transcript posted to CTS College. But please note, if you wish to be presented with your parchment and transcript at the Graduation Ceremony, you will need to bring these to the Graduation Ceremony.

 

3. If I have already received my parchment and transcript, do I need to bring them to the Graduation Ceremony?

If you wish to be presented with your parchment and transcript then you will need to bring these to the Graduation Ceremony. It is highly recommended that you do so. Therefore, you should avoid framing your parchment until after the Graduation Ceremony. If you wish to attend the Graduation Ceremony but do not wish to bring the parchment, then CTS College will present you with a scroll (which has no personal information on it).

 

4. When and where is the Graduation Ceremony?

The Graduation Ceremony is held annually and this year it falls on 16th June 2013.

 

5. Can I participate in the Graduation Ceremony before completing my MBA or BBA program?

Yes, if you are undertaking an MBA, you may be eligible to graduate with a GCM or GDM. Alternatively, if you are undertaking a BBA, you may be eligible to graduate with a Diploma or Associate Degree. Refer to the eligibility page for more information.

 

6. Will I receive an invitation to attend the Graduation Ceremony?

If you have completed an MBA or BBA course, CTS College will contact you to register for the ceremony.

 

If you have not yet completed your MBA or BBA, then you will need to review the eligibility page and you can email CTS College to check whether you are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony.

 

7. What will it cost to attend the Graduation Ceremony?
In terms of the Graduation Ceremony itself, there is a subsidized fee of $600 TTD for yourself or any guest attending the ceremony. For hire of academic dress, a refundable fee $200.00 TTD is charged. Upon return of the gown in original condition students would be refunded. Other than that, there is no fee for attending the Graduation Ceremony and your parchment and transcript are provided at no cost.

 

8. Can I invite guests to the Graduation Ceremony?
Yes, you can invite your guests to attend the Graduation Ceremony. You are required to provide the guest details when you register at CTS College.

 

9. Do I have to pay for my guests?
Yes, each guest will be charged at $600.00 TTD.

 

10. Will I receive anything else at the ceremony?
Yes, at no extra charge students will receive a printed 8" x 10" graduation portrait, a DVD of the recorded ceremony and a graduation booklet.
