Each year thousands of graduates enter the market place seeking employment; at the same time employers are cutting jobs and downsizing in an effort to remain competitive in our current economic climate. This effectively means that there are more persons seeking employment making the marketplace extremely competitive.

Employers are no longer contented with just reviewing your CV but are routinely checking your digital footprint - the information about you online. What is your online presence saying about you?

This course is not just about screening and protecting your online reputation but it allows you to put your best foot forward. It encourages you to be social, build a network, follow the "right" people on twitter, create consistent quality content to help you gain credibility and authority, gain endorsements and build connections. In simple terms, this course helps you to increase your employability.

  • Endorsements
  • Building Connections
  • Searching the right groups to align yourself with
  • Promoting your profile
  • Writing Articles

 

5. Slide Share

  • Creating a slide share account
  • How is this tool employed in the job search

 

6. YouTube

  • Creating a YouTube channel
  • Content Strategy

 

7. Assembling Supporting Documents

  • Creating a portfolio (Physical / Soft Copy)

 

8. Online Presence Monitoring

  • Tools to be employed to Monitor
  • Monitoring Schedule

 

Students will be required to:

  • Complete audit report of online presence
  • Conceptualise the vision / mission for their personal online presence brand
  • Create, edit and enhance online profiles in line with the outlined vision / mission
  • Connect with a minimum of five persons in line with specific area of expertise

Lecturer's Profile:

Kevin Mc Clean

 

Kevin Mc Clean is a B.A. - Human Resource Management holder as well as he is social media certified. Mr. Mc Clean has over fifteen years' expertise in the Human Resource Industry and he has harnessed a solid experience in resume reviewing and writing and job interviews. He has interviewed over one thousand persons, assessing their performance, qualifications and job suitability. In addition to his full time career, Mr. Mc Clean is actively involved in educating young professionals in Trinidad and Tobago and he is also the recipient of the Rotary International's highest award, the Paul Harris Fellow.
