An MBA specialising in Finance offers graduates numerous opportunities and can be a deciding factor in promotions for a managerial or executive position. Graduates with MBA (Finance) will gain specialist skills and knowledge in business related finance. Students already in the financial sector can also benefit, as the MBA (Finance) improves their chances of career.

 

Students may complete the MBA within a minimum of 12 months and a maximum 3 years. Students who do not complete the programme by 31 October 2019, will only be able to finish their studies online.

 

Subjects Available

Applicants must choose the course they wish to undertake before submitting their application to CTS. Students pursuing the MBA in Finance are required to complete 7 core subjects, 4 Finance specialisation subjects and a final project:

  • Operations Management

 

Specialisation Subjects

  • International Business Finance
  • Corporate Finance
  • Financial Markets and Institutions
  • Investment Management

 

Applicants who wish to undertake the MBA course, must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria for the first stage of the course, namely the Graduate Certificate in Management. The applicant must have ONE of the following:

 

A BACHELOR'S DEGREE

  • A Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) and at least 2 years relevant work experience

 

AN ADVANCED DIPLOMA

  • An Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree (AQF Level 6) or learning equivalent to an AQF Level 6 qualification and at least 3 years relevant work experience

 

MINIMUM 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, which includes at least 3 years middle to senior management experience or significant technical experience

 

Alternatively, applicants may get direct entry into the MBA, if they have ONE of the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent in business/commerce or related discipline and at least 3 years relevant work experience
  • A Bachelor Honours degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8) or equivalent in any discipline and at least 3 years relevant work experience
