ACP - The Association of Computer Professionals

The Association of Computer Professionals (ACP) is an independent, professional examining body, set up in 1984, its Council Members working in both the education and commercial sectors of the computer industry. The Association's principal aim is to set and maintain standards of education, which reflect the constantly changing requirements of the computer industry, both in the United Kingdom and overseas. This is achieved through the provision of course syllabuses and examinations to our carefully vetted training centres around the world, which in turn provide the expert tuition.


The ACP Programme consists of three parts:

1) CERTIFICATE LEVEL

2) DIPLOMA LEVEL

3) ADVANCED DIPLOMA LEVEL

     Three Written Exams and a Practical Project

1)     Information Technology Fundamentals

2)     Computer Applications and Operations

3)    Applied Problems

4)       Programming Project

      ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1) No formal entry requirements

 

ACP - Diploma Level [Top]

       Three Written Exams and a Practical Component (6 Coursework Projects)

1)     Systems Analysis and Design

2)     Software Engineering

3)     Business Inforamtion Systems

4)       6 Diploma Assignments (2 per subject) 

           ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

1)     ACP Certificate Level

2)     Other appropriate educational qualifications deemed equivalent to the ACP Certificate level examinations

 

ACP - Advanced Diploma Level [Top]

        Three Written Exams and a Practical Component (2 Projects)

1)     Information Systmes Principles & Networking

2)     Systems Analysis and Design (Advanded Programming)

3)       Information Systems Management

4)       2 Projects (Individual project and Programming project)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1)     ACP Diploma Level

2)     Other appropriate educational qualifications deemed equivalent to the ACP Diploma level examinations

      Students completing the Advanced Diploma with an average of 60% or more, can gain entry into the final year of the University of Greenwich's BSc Computing programme.

*Registration fee of GBP 42 includes first year's annual subscription

 * Tuition Fee is free for all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago once student has completed a GATE application form complete with a copy of your Birth Certificate or valid National ID or a valid Passport).

REGISTRATION [Top]

REGISTRATION WITH CTSCBCS

  • Students typically register at the beginning of each semester and there is a registration fee of TT$100.00 
  • Semester I [January to May] starts roughly in the third week of January. 
  • Semester II [June to December] starts roughly in the third week of June.

REGISTRATION WITH ACP

Closing date for registration and examination fees are posted on ACP's website [http://www.acpexamboard.com] however CTSCBCS usually assists students with the submission of all Registration and Examination Forms. The procedure allows students to complete their bank drafts with all examination and registration fees and submit this along with their completed registration and examination entry forms by mid March for the May exams [Semester I] and mid July [Semester II] for the September exams and mid November for the January exams and we will assist in having these forms couriered to the examining body.
