University of Hertfordshire School of Computer Science Online Degrees with Local Study Support

CTS College of Business and Computer Science Ltd has entered into a partnership agreement with the University of Hertfordshire, UK to offer local support and facilities for the above courses.

The Degree with Local Study Support Programme combines the advantages of an internationally recognized  degree in Computer Science with the benefits of studying at a local centre.

The University will provide the online materials and will mark all the assignments.

CTS College of Business and Computer Science Ltd will provide supplementary tuition, a local discussion board and study facilities with computer resources and Internet access.

Degrees will be awarded by the University, with the following titles:

" MSc Computer Science (for both Computer Science and other graduates)

  • MSc Distributed Data Management *

  • MSc Multimedia Technology
  • MSc Distributed Systems and Networks
  • MSc Computer Science

*  Available for full-time study from September 2008, for part-time study from September 2007, with a restricted choice of modules in 2007-8.

Duration: 1 year (at 60 credits per semester); 2-3 years part time (min: 30 credits per semester)

Students are required to complete 120 credits of taught modules and a 60 credit project (180 credits in total) to graduate.

Semester Start Dates:

  • September 2007 (Semester Duration: Sept - Dec)
  • January 2008 (Semester Duration: Jan - Apr)
  • May 2008 (Semester Duration: May - Aug)

Application Deadline:  31st July 2007 (for courses starting September 2007)

Fees: 

  • University Fees: GBP 2700 pounds (inclusive of books)
  • Tution: TT$20000 before GATE (50% off for GATE)

Payment Options:

  1. GBP 2700 for entire programme (payable upfront) 
  2. GBP1350 per year if done over 2 years (fees paid at the beginning of the academic year) or
  3. GBP 480 per 30 credit module (fees paid at the beginning of each semester) 
  4. GBP 240 per 15 credit module (fees paid at the beginning of each semester)

  • Multimedia Specification, Design and Production [30 credits]

January - April 2008:

  • HCI: Selecting Usable Systems [15 credits]
  • HCI: Developing Usable Systems [15 credits]
  • Multicast and Multimedia Networking [15 credits]
  • Wireless, Mobile and Ad-hoc Networking [15 credits]

May - August 2008:

  • Software Engineering Practice and Experience [30 credits]
  • Web Services [30 credits]
  • Project [60 credits]

Class Schedule:

Saturday and /or Evening Classes

 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. A bachelor's degree or equivalent inComputer Science or closely-related subject. With this qualification you may register for any of the awards in the programme
  2. A bachelor's degree or equivalent in any subject combined with an appropriate level of computer literacy. With this qualification you may register for the MSc Computer Science award.
  3. You will need to provide two academic references or one academic plus a current work reference.
